Just WOW! I really enjoyed the superb story-telling and character design combined with fantastic visuals and cut scenes. The sprites and environments were top notch. The whole package really brought this world to life, and I am super excited to share this prologue with others and play the final release. Really loved it!
I liked it. However, there were some bugs. Whenever it switched from being top down to being sideways I had to quit and open it again. Also I have a quick question - what happens if you pick the door that goes back in the long hallways and what happens if you manage to pick the door that has a key to go with it?
I See Well Just Do What You Want To If You Like To Experience The Secret Of Project Kat That You Can Find Mystery Room Or Object That Not Seem In The Game.
Am Just Saying If You Like To Do It Or Not Do It In The Game. Is Your Decision Of Your Experience Of Playing My Good Friend
Hey, guys! Your game is amazing, I enjoyed the demo. You did the great job with all that spooky atmosphere, I had shivers running up and down my spine since the moment when music stopped. Hope that Kat will be okay.
I just finished the game and i must say that i was not disappointed, even if the game is only a prologue it was enjoyable and fun to play, everything was explained and the whole idea and story behind it was awesome. I cant wait for your next project, keep working hard on it, it deserves to be seen!! Thank u for a great experience :>
Normally i come onto itch.io to record myself taking the piss out of bad horror games. i installed this entirely expecting some half-ass 2-d puzzle game with some cheap jumpscares. instead, i got a near masterpiece. the only thing im upseat about is that there are no more endings. i played through the game three times, the first as a blind playthrough, the second doing everything i didnt do the first time, and the third trying my best to follow basic human etiquette (no running in the halls, cutting my own hair, not reading through the girls book, etc) and it was only now that i came back to the itch.io page toi see that it says only one ending lmao. either way, i enjoyed it. i am also a bit dissapointed i could never get into the "unused" room, no matter what i tried. hopefully i can do that in a more "finished" state of the project. I'll be supporting you (:
This is a fantastic game. I can't wait until the full release is out. I'd play the heck outta that. Incredible job. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to creating this game.
Currently 3AM me and my friend had an absolute blast playing this for the past 2 hours because the art style (shes adorable) and we would just like you to know this is a great game and it made our 2020 and the new game will make it better. Thankyou!
It was good, the art styles is cute, the characters are cute, the plot is good, and the feeling you get just when the door opened. It made me put my finger on the shift bar ready to run but the ending credits rolled in. I was kinda scared but it was fun, I hope to see what comes next on the Project KAT I will be supporting your game. I look forward to finish the entire game if you finished the game. 10/10
Jesus, it was the best prologue of the game that I would not even expect ... I'm waiting for the end of this game because it was quite a good work spent on it
I loved it so much.. the nerves I had playing, the style of art, the trama, I really want to know how its end, I recommend it a lot. We appreciate the effort of the developers. ❤
I love all the graphic work of this game! Animations are pretty good and illustrations are beautiful. The story seems interesting and the main character is funny. The whole work is good, I look forward to more of this =D
Wow😌 Nice Art You Have A Great Experience Through All These Days That You Have Practice One Day I'll Be Just Like You With A Great Talent Some Day Soon🙂☺️
Thank you so much! Wow! I have been playing horror rpg games and watching them since I was 13. I'm about to turn 21 now and I've been consuming horror media all my life. I swear, I was scared to the marrow.
Look, my expertise falls into two categories: art and writing. I know very little about programming and, in regards to that, I all can say is that I had a very smooth run and I didn't once run into any kind of trouble or bug or anything — and I did try many things. The resolution I played in was perfect. I toyed with most settings (as I usually do) and everything worked wonderfully. And I tried many options while playing, I interacted with a lot of stuff. I played the Windows version. I'm sorry I cannot say more about this equally very important part of the game. I work in one of those industries where the motto is "if people don't notice you, you are doing an excellent job;" I know what it's like to be "basically invisible" and yet, if your work and effort wasn't there, no project would be possible.
The writing is spectacular: it subverts and inverts many expectations while simultaneously fulfilling deep, unconscious desires. It's very hard to explain this and I can't find another way of phrasing it. It fulfills desires: the desire to be surprised, the desire to be "tricked," the desire to see original ideas for once and yet having some of the "traditionally" scary stuff in there, among other things. On part of the writer, it reflects a lot of empathy and signals a great ability to get under people's skin and to trust not only yourself as a writer, but also the player/reader. Underestimating the player is extremely common, so thank you for respecting our intelligence.
Kat is marvelously written. Her character makes a lot of sense when put next to the options given to the player —or, maybe, the options given to the player make a lot of sense if you analyze Kat's personality—. She has a personality that complements and is able to powerfully drive the story: one of the things that surprised me the most was how much in control the player feels until that control is completely taken away in the most unexpected ways. And, in moderate and timed doses, that feels great as a player; especially, as a player of horror games. As a side note, I'm bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, waiting to meet Lacie!
The pacing is very enjoyable: not painfully slow or so fast you can't blink. It's very balanced and the dream sequence sets the tone and a very high standard for the rest of the game in such a way... And I just can't help but praise your foresight. The waiting screens are timed very well. The player needs them —I definitely needed them. The lines written for interactions with seemingly "minor" details are awesome. On the topic of lines, you wrote some memorable lines.
You have a great command of the mood: it's not guess-what-you're-in-silent-hill-for-life or look-guys-I-brought-a-clown all the time or for too long. It has hilarious and bubbly valleys of joy and scary peaks of glory that put the player to dance in a maelstrom of teenage recklessness I was definitely scared to pull off when I was in high school but really wanted to.
I'm not going to lie. I'm very picky with art. I really cannot play a game if I don't enjoy it aesthetically. I know I must be missing great works of art, but art is such a big thing for me... With that out of the way, yes, I decided to play Project Kat because of the art. And, man, does the game deliver beauty: I really hope we get a gallery feature. Also, the sprites are ♥.
There is definitely an art style, a very eye-catching and attractive art style, which must have taken a lot of time and effort to develop. And did it pay off. It's instantly catching and I'm sure a lot of people will gravitate towards it! I couldn't help but notice the beautiful and stylized way in which hands are drawn.
Congratulations. I'm rooting for you guys and really hoping you can finish Project Kat: it's one of those rare cases of a harmony-in-all-aspects work and I would definitely love to see it flourish and see you guys thrive in everything (in life too, definitely).
Thank you for this experience! You really did give us part of your love ♥
We've read and reread your wonderful comment, thank you so much for writing it ♡ It was heartwarming to read, we hope you'll stick around and potentially enjoy the next release just as much as you did this one! ^^ Thank you for playing!
Jesus fuck, this was terrifying. Please make more of this, it was great, and I want to see more. But at the same time, going through this will just be torturing Kat... hmm...
