If there is one thing i dont like its jump scares. If there is one thing i DO like its horror, that does not need jump scares. The atmosphere of the game gets more and more creepy. This is absolutly amazing. I am looking forward to play it again and try some other decissions.

+ I like the fact that you are confronted with the fact, that your decissions matter. I have not played a second time yet, but i am looking forward to it, hoping to see some different stuff happening.
+ For now, the game is very small and therefore all objectives can be easily done, since it does not take long to understand WHERE you have to do WHAT. I like the fact that the instructions are kept "real" (like: i should do this) and not to instructive (like: go to this location that i just marked on your map and do that one thing)
- I get, that you use z and x on your keyboard. This works great on an english layout, but I am on a german keyboard so having my fingers on z (which is y on an english keyboard) x and shift for the time of playing is...somewhat painfull XD
- The sound is distorted. I think this is due to the fact that it might be overdriven and it might just be me noticing that but (as an audio designer and musician myself) i am allways a little sad if such fantastic music is destroyed by such a small mistake
+ i love the music XD
- this is just a small one and might not be that important, since its just the progue for the whole game buuuut: i was kind of confused when the game started and Kat allready hat her sheet of instructions like: what is this and what is she trying to do? I mean at some point her intentions are clear but at the beginning i didn't quite get along (did i miss something?). A small hint as to what she is going to do and/or where she got the notes might be nice to get the player involved right away
All in all: this is a game done nicely. I like the atmosphere and its simplicity. the music is great and there is no complicated gameplay. This game relies entirely on the story and its creepieness. I am really looking forward to the whole game.
i feel like they were putting together a theory for people to solve, I myself believe it because she's trying to reach her father for because he died. which we prob won't know until the full game comes out. :)

We're aware that many players find the current controls inconvenient and we plan to include an option to remap them in the full game! In the meanwhile, players can use a controller if that's more comfortable to them.
We're also aware of the sfx/music issues and we plan to fix it on the next version, sorry about that ;-;

Really enjoyed your game! I don't usually play this kind of game (pixel art/rpg) but I really liked it. The dialogues are nice, the music and animations are great. Honestly so many good things about this game. Contrary to what others have said I find that the objectives were clear and the storyline was easy to follow.

I really liked this game. There were no excessive or cheap jump scares and the game was genuinely creepy near the end. I also liked how you added cute animations as instructions for the controls and which buttons to press to open the items list, as well as adding objectives in the game. A lot of indie games tend to overlook adding quick instructions or even objectives in the game assuming that the player would know but a lot of times it's not that obvious, especially to people who are new to indie games and RPG style games like yours. Keep up the good work! There's more of a review for the game near the end of my gameplay if anyone's interested in watching. Have a nice day!
streamed this game two nights ago, had a fantastic time with it! The prologue takes an incredibly dark twist towards the end and genuinely put me on edge! Was very nice of the developer to watch the stream as well, looking forward to seeing more!!
I'm curious if there's anything else you can do in the intro, after finishing the game once I'm running around in the garden area looking for some other thing I can do with the "flower." It'd be a great bonus addition to add later on in the bigger project, if not!
I really enjoyed this game! It really brought back classic rpg horror feels with a new, yet-to-be-explored world. I think the best part of the game for me was that I was genuinely invested in Kat, and was curious to see where my gameplay would take her, whereas in many games, you feel like you're just moving the character along cause (duh) you're supposed to. I felt like this was just a small taste of what you had to offer, and I really want to see the full potential of both the gameplay and stories. I think this has the potential of being the kind of game, world, and characters that you remember :)
I was really bored playing through this game, it feels like it's mostly empty hallways. Being able to solve puzzles in different ways is fine, but none of the results seemed to deviate much at all.
hello !! i usually don't play games but i've been starting to play more since i can't get out of my house bc of the coronavirus. i really likes project kat !! after the ending, it made me want to know more about the story of the place and who kat was looking for, hope you can continue it !!
Well color me more than a bit intrigued. This is looking to be quite different from most RPGMaker horror games I have played, with more subtle choices and changes. Even just glancing at some of these other playthroughs, I saw ways to get around some things I hadn't even considered.
Definitely followed - I wanna know when there's more of this.
I made an account just to post this, because I'm just loving the game! The dialogues, the characters, the visuals, the pacing,... everything is just so well made, especially for an early version. The idea of having different solutions is brilliant as well, I can imagine a future where people gather to tell each other how their first impressions went, since everyone would have an unique first run! The alternative solutions were well written, they feel really natural and flow beautifully from the situation.
Anyways, for such an experience, I felt like I should do something in return, so here, please enjoy this little pixel art I made! (I think I messed up the colors though, I blame my 10 years old monitor). Hope that you guys will succeed with this game, it really has potentials!

I love how the devs knew that pushing the desks with the controls they had would be really boring so they just took it out and replaced it with a better system more suited for pushing the desks & restarting.

I had just finished my first run through of the game and I must say I enjoyed it a lot! Even though the controls were a bit weird to me (not used to using z and x as actual buttons in a game and, for me at least, it would have make more sense to have enter or space be interact and E to be inventory), I really would like to see more of this from you. I'm excited to see what else you have in store ^v^
While the options for choice and possibilities are very limited right now due to this being a demo, it has left me very curious about the world and characters and I'd love to see more of this ! I should also add that this is a very well polished demo and the passion shines through and through ! Thank you for offering this experience, I can't wait to see more.

kat even explains the rune is in the room with the 3 girls then you have to find something to open the box. its quite clear...

You can actually walk right past the flower. Go to each of the vases and take the flowers out.
Then select the door.

Even though it said that it wasnt bad I still took a 2-3 min break after each "scary" part and really loved this game
