Paper Lily - Chapter 1

Something terrible has happened. You can’t bear to think about it - but you can’t live like this anymore. You stopped attending school, you haven’t left your house in months, you have no reason to get out of bed anymore. There are no choices left.
No choice except... that strange golden letter.
It’s time to get your life back together.
One last try.
Paper Lily is a horror RPG game in which you can solve each puzzle in multiple different ways. Explore a hidden world, meet strange characters, and guide Lacie as she attempts to find answers about her unusual condition.
There is always another way.
The game is playable in about 4 hours (probably). As was the case with Project Kat on its first release, the game contains only 1 ending but multiple variations depending on your actions. An update with the endings is coming soon!
Paper Lily - Chapter 1 is the continuation to the prologue, Project Kat, but it can also be enjoyed without having played it.

IMPORTANT!
We are still only two idiots making this game: Any comment, review, email, or any other sort of love we get helps feed our souls so that we can channel our magic powers into making Chapter 1 (and the rest of the game) better for everyone!
Please note that there are a few things we needed to temporarily remove/disable from Chapter 1 in its current state, namely:
- Multiple endings
- Collectibles
- A few extra secrets and interactions
If you run into a situation where you would have triggered a dead end, you will receive a generic game over screen instead (don't panic, it's a placeholder).

Replaying this game once again (for the 5th? 6th time?) as well as writing the review once again (3th time already). It's just that, i can't express how much i love this game and appreciate you two. It's the first time i fell in love with a game so much. This times are tough and i'm struggling with many problems, and this game is one of the few things that cheers me up... So thank you for creating this game. <3
Found this on Steam and I was already in love with it. Thank you so much for making this amazing game, I wanna support it to the fullest.
I also wanna express my own thoughts not just the game but the devs themselves. For many years to this day, though this is my only interpretation, I too am worried about people seeing my content. I am an illustrator and I still have fear of putting out my content on public as they might not like the work I made. It's a bit hard for me to explain but over the years I've been trying to overcome it without sacrificing the way I do it.
What I'm getting at is that, keep pursuing what you love and follow your way. Having support only to disappoint others isn't easy to live by but we learn as we go. As long as you know that you love your work not just for yourself but for others as well, even with criticism, I know that it will be amazing.
Seriously, thank you for this game.

I'm not sure why this happened again, but just like with the prologue steam version I/m unable to use an esc button so every time I open a menu it's the last one. Nothing works, not esc/x at least and it only happens in your games for some reason, do you perhaps know why it copuld be?

Hi, sorry to hear that! This is the first time we hear of this, we're not sure what could be causing it. Can you try reassigning the menu key to a different key and see if that helps?

absolutely amazing game, created brilliant atmosphere, the story is so rich and just great. but the one thing i hate about games like this, is that they always get really sad
You only know what happiness is if you felt sad , like eating your fill after a hard workout , or drinking after a long walk in the sun , like Yin and Yang , Black and White , i heard somewhere that there is a certain bird with these colors in the game

I happened to see the game when looking at games on itch after more than a year passed decided to look here a bit and thinking about it I'm kind of suprised the game didn't blow up like the coffin of andy and leyley did. I enjoyed this one more though I only played the demo of the other game long before launch on steam. Good luck on your future games

Okay I can getting a bug where it is eating my items the plugs especially that I need for the elevator in the facility. Like I literally just got the 40 plug but when I died to one of the monsters and hit retry the item disappeared out of my inventory the same thing happened to the 5 and 10 plugs I got. I know I picked them up but they aren't there now for some reason. Then when I try to get it again it says the item isn't there anymore. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? if so then how do I fix it? This is the steam version btw, I've never seen it do this before like even the demo version didn't do this. Well what I can do is do another playthrough and see if I still get the same error If I don't the save file itself got corrupted somehow or something, I contacted steam support already waiting for a reply.
Hiya, the fuses don't show up in the inventory after picking them up but if you go to the electrical panel you should notice you can select all the ones you've picked up there :)

I loved this game so much! I played Project Kat last year and kept thinking about what Paper Lily would be like. I ended up taking a long time to play this game due to lack of time, and in the end, I was really surprised by its quality!

This was great! I really loved the art style and music, it's even better than the first game. The protagonist is also very precious and I want to protect her, unfortunately I'm dogwater at bullet rush type things. There were points where I got stuck but not too many, mostly at the end. I'm looking forward to chapter 2!
